Plan the Fisherman’s Trail Porto Covo to Odeceixe · 76 km / 47 miOUR KIND OF TRAVEL
We look for walks that connect beautiful places with somewhere welcoming to sleep. Carry what you need. Leave room for the experience.
Coastlines, high passes, forest paths and villages worth lingering in. Choose the walk before choosing the package.
An inn, a mountain hut, a little guesthouse. See what staying there really means, including private and shared rooms.
Book independently, have an operator arrange the details, or join a guided walk. Know where luggage transfers help—and where they stop.

Explore the complete 13-stage Fisherman’s Trail, or choose your own coastal section. Our featured four-day introduction links Porto Covo and Odeceixe, with a detailed room and luggage planner.
Carry a daypack with food, water and the essentials you need while walking. Where a luggage service covers your stops, send your main bag to the next stay or farther ahead. Carry your overnight kit for any nights when your bag will not meet you.
Soft sand and exposed clifftop paths can make these days more tiring than the distance suggests. Walk all 13 stages from São Torpes to Lagos, choose a shorter stretch, or begin with four coastal days from Porto Covo to Odeceixe.

Choose a defined Nakahechi journey: Takijiri–Nachi in five walking days, the same roughly 68 km / 42 mi over six days with the Hongu stage split, or a longer coast-to-coast itinerary. The three-day Hongu finish remains available. These choices cover Hongu and Nachi; Hayatama in Shingu and the wider Kumano Kodo network are separate extensions.
Choose daily transfers or send your main bag straight to your finish hotel; confirm each service and carry the overnight kit you need.
Choose three walking days to Hongu, five or six days on the Classic Takijiri–Nachi route, or seven or eight coast-to-coast. Steep climbs, long mountain days and timed bus connections require careful planning. These are defined Nakahechi itineraries, not the entire Kumano Kodo network.

Circle the Mont Blanc massif through valleys and high mountain passes, linking refuges and villages. A longer itinerary leaves more time for the landscape.
Do not assume daily bag delivery: some mountain stays are inaccessible by road. Check each stage of an operator-supported or independent itinerary.
Substantial climbing makes this a demanding walk. Hut nights and room types shape the itinerary; reserve well ahead. Snow and weather affect high passes.

Complete guideNew Zealand · Marlborough Sounds
Walk from Ship Cove to Anakiwa above the Marlborough Sounds. A network of boat services and lodges makes this a natural fit for carrying less.
Boat operators can transfer bags between eligible stays. Confirm pickup points, weight limits and your final sailing.
Several stages are long and undulating. Book accommodation, boat connections and the required private-land pass before travel.

Complete guideScotland · Loch Lomond to the Highlands
Link Milngavie and Fort William on Scotland’s classic long-distance walk. Break the journey into stages around the places you want to stay.
Carry a daypack with food, water, waterproofs and daily essentials. Book luggage transfers between your stays or arrange selected deliveries farther ahead. If your main bag will not meet you overnight, carry the kit you need until it does.
The 6–8-day range is a planning starting point. The rocky Loch Lomond shore can be slow going; longer stages demand more than the average mileage suggests.

Route overviewChile · Torres del Paine
Explore the valleys of the W on an itinerary with prebooked refuge beds and meals. This is a hut-based way to experience Patagonia without carrying camping equipment.
Expect to carry overnight essentials. Porter support, where offered, needs a separate arrangement; standard hotel-style luggage delivery is not assumed.
Long days, wind and fast-changing weather make this a demanding trek. An indoor bed must be confirmed at every stop; a camping reservation is not equivalent.
This is a route overview. A full HutHikes accommodation plan is not available yet.

Complete guideSpain · Catalan Pyrenees
Circle Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park on the classic Carros de Foc, linking nine staffed refuges through granite passes and glacial lake country.
Leave city clothing and a larger suitcase with a confirmed Espot hotel, then carry a compact refuge pack around the circuit. Standard nightly luggage delivery is not the normal pattern.
This is an unmarked high-mountain circuit. Reserve every refuge, carry a paper map plus offline navigation, and be prepared for scree, boulder fields and fast-changing mountain weather.

Complete guideTürkiye · Cappadocia
A five-day point-to-point walk linking Cappadocia's valley paths and historic villages from Taşkınpaşa to Göreme.
Walk with a daypack using supported luggage transfer, arrange hotel-to-hotel moves independently, or carry a small overnight pack.
The five-day itinerary, overnight towns, lodging anchors, luggage options and arrival logistics are built out. Use the operator or current route track for navigation because the HutHikes overview map is not a turn-by-turn trail line.

Baggage-transfer services operate on the route; confirm every selected property and any off-route delivery before booking.

Several baggage-transfer companies serve all or part of the route. Confirm each exact delivery address and route direction.

Cross northern England from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay through the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors.
Several walking-holiday operators and luggage companies serve the crossing. Compare exact overnight patterns rather than assuming every package follows the same stages.

Follow the full West Wales coast from Amroth to St Dogmaels, or choose a shorter section around Tenby, St Davids or the northern headlands.
Local baggage-transfer services can support a daypack itinerary. Confirm every accommodation address, walking direction and endpoint handoff.
Coastal buses, tides, steep headlands and sparse lodging on some sections make dated transport and room checks especially important.

Complete guideEngland · Yorkshire Dales to Lake Windermere
Walk from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere through Wharfedale, Dentdale and the southern Lake District fringe, with multiple self-guided and guided ways to arrange the trip.
Standalone baggage transfer and most self-guided packages make daypack walking straightforward, but sparse overnight choices can require a transfer or off-route room.
This is a complete Route Guide for stages, operators, maps, luggage and logistics. The hotel-by-hotel DIY planner is a separate upgrade still to come.

Complete guideEngland · Lake District & northern Cumbria
Walk from Ulverston to Carlisle through the heart of the Lake District, with our featured six-day plan adding Rosthwaite to give the mountain section more room.
Daily baggage transfer is available, but the Great Langdale-to-Borrowdale move costs more because the van must make a long road detour around the mountains.
This Route Guide includes a six-day stage plan, verified lodging anchors, operator comparisons, luggage options, paper maps, digital navigation and current access notes. Published distance totals vary slightly by mapped line and diversion.

Complete guideEngland · Cumbria from the North Pennines to Furness Abbey
Follow England's newest long-distance trail from Alston through the Eden Valley, Howgills and Lake District to the Furness coast, with an official 12-day holiday-pace itinerary as the featured plan.
Plan independently for now. Limited-bed stops may need taxis, and baggage is best arranged as local transfers rather than one end-to-end service.
This Route Guide uses the official 12-day itinerary, verified lodging anchors, current GPX/map options and realistic transfer notes. The trail opened in September 2026, so dedicated operator and baggage networks are still developing.

Link Lewis Mountain Cabins, Big Meadows and Skyland on the Appalachian Trail, with an optional walk north to Thornton Gap. Choose one, two or three walking days.
Carry overnight essentials for DIY walking: no routine separately bookable daily bag service is verified. A self-guided operator advertises package-linked luggage and airport transfers; ask for current availability and exact inclusions.
Confirm Lewis cabin status, check-in and self-catering supplies before booking. Endpoint rides need arranging. Distances and lodge approaches are approximate; published packages need current confirmation.

Guide · confirm logisticsCosta Rica · Caribbean to Pacific
Walk from the Caribbean near Parismina to Quepos on the Pacific, or choose two or four inland days through villages, forests and coffee country.
Arrange your own stays, choose a self-guided package or walk with a guide. A local provider offers separately bookable baggage transfers; exact stops, bag limits and dates need agreement. Package inclusions vary.
Expect road walking, steep hills, heat and mud. Read the Stage 1B safety notice for the full crossing; Stages 3–4 require booked guides. Some full-route stops use tents. Short inland options avoid those stages, but need transport at both ends.

Complete guideItaly · South Tyrol, Dolomites
The Dolorama is a four-day walk from Zumis to Laion, crossing alpine pastures beneath the Dolomites and staying at Monte Muro, Genova and Resciesa. There is no summit climb or via ferrata in this plan, but day one covers 20.4 km and the final day descends over 1,100 m. Start early, allow time for breaks, and aim to reach each hut before dinner. Bressanone, also called Brixen, makes a convenient valley base before and after the walk.
Carry your overnight equipment and food/water between huts. Plan to carry your pack throughout; do not count on hut-to-hut bag delivery.
No climbing sections are listed on the official named route, but day one exceeds 20 km and the last day descends over 1,100 m. Summits are separate. Confirm all hut beds, weather and transport.

Complete guideItaly · Pale di San Martino, Dolomites
Palaronda Trek was developed by a group of local hut managers. Our four-day plan follows their Rosetta–Pradidali–Treviso hut sequence, using direct trail 709 on day two and leaving the optional Fradusta summit excursion out of the mapped route. Start in San Martino di Castrozza, cross the Pale di San Martino plateau and finish with the Rosetta lift back to town. Allow about 31.4 km / 19.5 mi of walking. The final day climbs roughly 1,300 m before the lift.
Carry clothing, weather layers, liner, toiletries, lunch, water and emergency essentials for all three refuge nights. Plan to carry your pack throughout; do not count on hut-to-hut bag delivery.
High, rough and exposed walking. The last day climbs roughly 1,300 m and depends on a working lift. Fradusta summit/glacier and ferrata variants are excluded from our direct-709 plan. Confirm protected passages, conditions and equipment locally.
